WORLD SPORT COACH, was founded in 2020 by former international triathlon, swimming, hockey and surf lifesaving coach, sport scientist and athlete Craig Johns. WORLD SPORT COACH focuses on transforming sport coaches into being high performing leaders, and guiding sport coaching businesses to the next level.

WORLD SPORT COACH mission is to build a thriving sport coaching industry, that is prepared for a sustainable future. We provide a platform where coaches learn, collaborate and share best-practice sport coaching performance, wellness and business solutions.


CRAIG JOHNS

Based in Canberra, Australia, Craig has spent 25 years working in high performance, coaching, events and leadership roles across five countries including leading Thanyapura and Executive Director of Triathlon ACT. Craig established one of the leading endurance coaching businesses in Asia before specialising in high performance leadership with CEO’s, sport organisations and coaches.

As a High Performance Leadership Expert, working with a number of different team and individual sports, Craig has also been involved in coach development, accreditation, mentoring and consultancy. He is an international speaker, host of the active CEO Podcast and creator of Breaking The COACH Code. Craig has worked with Olympians, World Champions, International Coaches and CEO’s of some of the world’s leading businesses including Nike, Nestle and P&G.

Ben GATHERCOLE

Ben Gathercole is the Head of Speakers for the World Endurance Coach Business Summit – COACH 2020 VISION.

During a successful coaching career, Ben Gathercole created the Tridents Triathlon Club and coached Simon Thompson to 10th at the Athens Olympics.

He wrote the successful book “Better Than Winning”, is a type 1 diabetic and has owned a successful Learn to Swim business.

As a high Performance leader, he has worked as the ACT Brumbies Team Director and High Performance Director for Triathlon Australia.

Currently Ben works as the Team Director with Porsche Carrera Cup driver Cameron Hill, who is one of the leading contenders in the 2020 season

DEBBIE DIONYSIUS

Debbie Dionysius is the Head of Marketing for the World Endurance Coach Business Summit – COACH 2020 VISION.

During 20 years based in Phuket, Thailand, Debbie headed up the Destination Marketing & Events team at an internationally renowned integrated resort where she directed global marketing initiatives and organised large scale tourism events including triathlons, marathons, conferences, trade shows and weddings!

She has extensive experience in both Above the Line and Below the Line marketing strategies, digital and social media and public relations. 

As a marketing communications and event management professional, Debbie grew the Laguna Phuket Triathlon from a field of 200 to 2000 competitors, with the Race of Legends attracting some of the greatest professional triathletes on the circuit. 

She was also involved in establishing the success of the Phuket International Marathon and now, although living in Brisbane, Australia, where she runs an E-commerce business, she still manages the Phuket Marathon’s social media presence.


JAMES THORP

James Thorp is the Head of Content for the World Endurance Coach Business Summit – COACH 2020 VISION, and the founder and head coach of JT Multisport.

With elite sporting success across multiple sports, a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and over 15 years coaching experience across three continents, James is quickly establishing himself as one of the most highly credentialed triathlon coaches in the world.

James has been recognised for his success in coaching triathlon by being named the Triathlon ACT Club Coach of the Year in 2019 and being nominated for the Triathlon Australia Age Group Coach of the Year in 2020.

James’ strengths as a coach are mirrored in business where his degree in business and experience working as an operations analyst for an ASX listed company have given him the skills to build JT Multisport into Australia’s most recognised and respected triathlon club.
